"Web of Angels is of award-winning calibre and the bigger the awards, the better. The writing style and characters definitely lift this writing ‘off the book’s pages.’"

Ravenous Reader on Web of Angels

“That must be a heckuva book,” the elderly man said. He stood before me, hand in hand with his lady friend, as they walked the boardwalk on an afternoon constitutional.

“It definitely is,” I answered, emerging from my reverie.

“I bet it’s a love story,” he said with a smile.

“Well, not exactly – not a conventional love story.” I held the book up so he could see the title. “It’s called Web of Angels and the author is Canadian...

Web of Angels in a Literary Salon

"Web of Angels, goes further than any novel I think I’ve ever read in dramatising the strange brilliance of inner life...a novel that deals with the most commonplace of lives and manages to show the rich complexity that lies behind them...And I found it immensely moving...This is...what literature was designed for..."

CityTV with Meghan Duffy: Life and Art

In Web of Angels, an interviewer from CityTV is first on the scene to report on the tragedy that begins the action of redemption. So it was with delight, pleasure, and a sense of serendipity that I had a wonderful live conversation with Meghan for Breakfast Television. Here's the link! I hope you enjoy it as much as I did.

I was delighted to answer some questions for Tammy at The Love of Reading. Tammy was one of the first bloggers to write about Web of Angels. She is an intelligent young woman and a wonderful reader.

"T: When did you first started writing and what did you write (poetry, short stories, novel, etc.)?"

For the answer to this and other questions, check out For The Love of Reading.

Web of Angels with Ron Csillag of the Canadian Jewish News

"It takes up a potentially tricky subject, but leavened with love and wisdom, the result is a daring, textured book that celebrates not just feminine strength but the human spirit."

Ron came to my house and we talked over tea and cookies, just as we had years ago when he interviewed me about my first novel. It was a good talk. Have a look at the full profile.

Web of Angels is Bestseller #7!

This morning, after oatmeal with maple syrup for breakfast, I was sitting at my desk, drinking coffee and looking out the window at the drizzly early spring. To my surprise, even though it's Saturday, in my inbox were emails from my agent, editor and publicist. Web of Angels is #7 on the Canadian bestseller list in the Globe and Mail! I'm in such great company there, both among the living, and my first and dearest hero: Lucy Maude Montgomery.

Web of Angels with Greg Quill of the Toronto Star

"[Lilan Nattel] seems enriched by the light flooding through the windows on this unusually temperate winter afternoon...[Web of Angels is] a clever twist on an old staple, the banal suburban crime novel, and...what happens in the novel is rooted very much in...headlines."

I had so much fun talking with Greg Quill of The Toronto Star. We met for coffee at Faema, the coffee shop on the main floor of the old Ford building that is featured in Web of Angels. We sat where Eleanor and Lyssa did in "McGee's Family Restaurant," facing the former Blockbuster's which had, in another and fictional time, been Jake's store.

Web of Angels: Danger Avoided

"[S]hards of broken glass may reflect light in ways that sparkle and enchant...And so, Lilian Nattel certainly chose the correct metaphor for the title of her new novel, Web of Angels. Nattel is an outstanding, controlled writer."
